Quick answer
Use Taobao, Weidian, 1688 and Yupoo labels as navigation context. After opening a link, confirm the current destination, product type, option, visible details and date-sensitive information. An original link or converter can make a URL easier to use, but it cannot verify the listing, seller, photos, price or availability.
Begin with the destination, not the label
A spreadsheet row may say Taobao, Weidian, 1688 or Yupoo because that was the source environment when the row was created. The live destination may later redirect, change content, require a different browsing path or disappear. Treat the label as a clue to inspect—not as a permanent fact.
Before reading the product details, look at the domain and page purpose. Is it a product page, a store page, an image album, a search result or an error page? Those destinations support different kinds of checking. A store page may help with seller context but not identify the exact item. An image album may show detail but omit price, variant and transaction information.
What the common source terms usually mean
| Source term | Useful clue | What to check next | What the name cannot prove |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taobao or Tmall | A marketplace or storefront-style destination | Exact item, option, seller/store, current price and page status | Quality, authenticity, seller reliability or policy outcome |
| Weidian | A product or store context with its own listing structure | Current product match, variants, seller page and visible notes | That every row detail is current or that the seller is verified |
| 1688 | A marketplace context that may emphasize sourcing, options or quantity | Minimum quantity, option wording, unit context and included items | That a visible unit price applies to the exact option or quantity you need |
| Yupoo | An image-led album or catalog clue | Album identity, item code, contact/source path and matching product detail | Live price, stock, order support or a complete transaction page |
The table is a reading aid, not a description of every page. Third-party layouts and policies can change. Use the live page and official help material for current functions.
Begin on the platform’s own domain
When a source label needs checking, use the platform’s public domain as the reference point. These links identify the destination only; they do not verify a seller, listing, price or spreadsheet row.
Original links, raw links and converted links
An original link points closer to the source page. A raw link is the underlying URL before it was wrapped, shortened or shown inside another interface. A converted link is reformatted so the same or a related item can open in a different browsing context.
These terms describe URL handling, not item verification. A converter may preserve the right product ID and still lead to an outdated or unavailable page. It may also drop option context that was visible in the previous interface. After conversion, repeat the product match instead of assuming the destination is equivalent.
Use a five-part destination check
- Domain: Does the hostname match the source type you expected, or is there an unexplained redirect?
- Page purpose: Is this the exact product, a store, an album, a search page or an unavailable page?
- Product match: Do the title, category, visible photos and product identifiers describe the same item as the row?
- Option match: Can you identify the relevant size, color, quantity, model or included parts?
- Current context: Are the visible price, stock, notes and policies clearly current on the page you opened?
Product match is more than a similar picture
Two listings can use similar catalog images while differing in option, material wording, included parts or seller context. Match several clues at once: product type, distinctive construction, item code where visible, option names and the details shown in QC photos. A single familiar image is a weak bridge between a row and its destination.
If the row mentions one item but the source page has become a broad store page, do not transfer the row’s assumptions to the first similar product you see. Search the item code or descriptive phrase, or remove the row until the exact match is recoverable.
Read redirects as a change in evidence
A redirect is not automatically dangerous or useful. It simply means the route changed. Check where it ends and whether the new page preserves the same product identity. Redirects to login, homepage, store or error pages reduce what the row can currently prove because the item-specific evidence is no longer visible.
Do not enter account, payment or personal information merely to investigate a spreadsheet link. Account-specific decisions belong to the relevant official service and its current policies.
Broken and unavailable links
When a page is missing, capture the product clue before searching elsewhere: a title fragment, item code, store name, category and one distinctive attribute. Then use a focused search rather than copying the full broken URL into several unrelated tools.
If you find a possible replacement, treat it as a new candidate. It needs its own photo, sizing, price, source and weight checks. A similar listing is not automatically the continuation of the old row.
Source notes that remain useful later
Expected source: [Taobao / Weidian / 1688 / Yupoo / other]
Current destination: [exact product / store / album / unavailable]
Product match: [confirmed clues]
Option still needed: [size, color, model, quantity, included parts]
Checked on: [date]
The date matters because links, prices, availability and seller notes can change. It also prevents a later reader from treating an old observation as live status.
What a source link should contribute to comparison
A useful destination should help answer at least one real question: Is this the same product? Which options exist? Are the visible measurements or specifications relevant? What is included? Is the row still actionable? If the link contributes nothing beyond a source label, keep its evidence score low.
Source relevance belongs beside QC photos, measurements, price context and shipping weight. It is one line of evidence, not the final verdict.
